Benoît Desachy joined Tillerman Executive Search in April 2023. His expertise is based on nearly 25 years of recruitment consulting in the executive search market. He assists company directors and managers in industry, associated services and specialised distribution.
An engineer by training, Benoît has worked in large industrial groups as well as in small and medium-sized industrial companies. He puts all his knowledge at the service of the players and challenges of today’s industry: Factory of the Future, Industry 4.0, Sourcing, Energy, Sustainability, etc.
He is looking for rare specialists, high potentials, future managers and executives, for companies of all sizes: from start-ups or innovative technological scale-ups in strong growth to multinationals, references in their markets.
Professional history
Benoît Desachy graduated from the School of Chemical and Digital Sciences Engineering (CPE Lyon). He started his career in 1995 in organisational consulting on the implementation of SAP for Unilog Management and then for Thalès. In this capacity, he worked with major industrial groups such as Total, Merck and Philips.
Benoît entered the world of recruitment in 2000, when he joined Michael Page: he participated in the launch of the firm’s first regional office, creating the IT practice in Lyon. He then immersed himself in the industrial world as CIO at Farinia Group, an automotive supplier, and took over the management of an ERP project covering several plants.
In 2006, he chose to work in Executive Search, mainly with Alexander Hughes (10 years), representing the Industry and High-Tech practices. He carried out exclusive direct approach mandates for the search of rare specialists, high potentials, future managers and executives: subsidiary or BU manager, CFO, R&D manager, operations manager, design office manager, plant manager, IT manager, cybersecurity expert, HR manager, etc. He supervised projects with the firm’s foreign offices located in Russia, Spain, Italy and Switzerland, among others.
In 2018, Benoît embarked on an entrepreneurial project and created the firm Steersman. He specialised in executive search of management positions and advised companies in the industrial sector. Then in 2020, he joined the French arm of IMD International Search Group, a global executive search network.
By joining Tillerman in 2023, Benoît Desachy brings his experience of multiple assignments in varied and sometimes complex environments, in the Industry and Associated Services sectors. An experience that has convinced him that understanding the uniqueness of each individual is the key to the success of a project or a company.
Marathoner and Ultra-Trail runner, Benoît Desachy is preparing to embark on the Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB). Long-distance races have taught him perseverance and humility, two essential values in his consulting business.
